The Full Story
Dr. Teranda Knight, DBH
Behavioral Health & Higher Education Leadership Expert | Behavioral Health Strategist | Founder of Virtually Renowned Consulting Access LLC

I’m Dr. Teranda Knight—a behavioral health specialist, higher education leader, and founder of a transformational consulting and coaching practice designed to help professionals lead with purpose, strategy, and peace.

With more than 18 years of experience across behavioral health, psychology, and academic instruction, I bring a unique blend of clinical insight, lived experience, and systems-thinking to everything I do. I hold advanced degrees in psychology with a specialization in counseling, and a Doctorate in Behavioral Health (DBH), along with additional doctoral-level training in general psychology, leadership, and mental health policy. My continuing professional development includes certifications and advanced study in integrated behavioral health leadership, healthcare consulting, therapy methodologies, coaching, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) process improvement.

I began my career in community mental health services and later advanced to leadership roles including Program Manager, Behavioral Health Specialist, and Employee Assistance Counselor and Consultant. As an adjunct professor of psychology for over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of teaching and mentoring students while championing wellness-aligned leadership practices in higher education.

My journey hasn’t been without challenges. I’ve faced personal health struggles, high-risk pregnancies, systemic inequities, and moments that tested my resilience. Despite multiple surgeries, pregnancy loss, and chronic illness, I continued to move forward—academically, professionally, and personally. Those experiences ultimately inspired me to create my own business to help others who are navigating burnout, career transitions, and the pressures of leadership in complex systems.

Beyond my professional work, I’m deeply committed to community education virtually and advocacy. I’ve volunteered with local Learning Disability Associations, United Way initiatives, and other organizations devoted to supporting underserved communities and empowering future leaders in the past.

I’m known for a warm, strategic, and empowering coaching style that integrates evidence-based practices with authentic, lived wisdom. My mission is simple but powerful: to help leaders reclaim their energy, align with their values, and lead without losing themselves—because true leadership doesn’t come from pressure; it comes from peace.
